Why A Progressive Church?

Why We Are Called A Progressive Church

The Church has been called the Progressive Spiritualists Church since it's incorporation in 1934.

There are other Progressive Spiritualists Churches throughout the world.  We are not related to these churches.

The Church name includes "Progressive" because our aim is to "help people to progress on their spiritual journey".

The word Progressive, however, does not mean that we follow all of the latest trends that may be found in spiritualist, Christian Spiritualist and/or any other churches in general.

We aim to have a suitable mix of traditional beliefs and practices combined with some modern philosophies and approaches. This is related to the Spiritual Law of Balance (or Equilibrium).

We believe that:

  • There are timeless truths and wisdom which never changes (the higher wisdom).
  • The human race is both evolving and learning at the same time, moving back towards unity with God.

All are welcomed and respected:

  • We are a very ecumenical church (seeing the common unity across all faiths and church denominations).
  • We open our doors to everyone, regardless of faith, gender, relationship status, etc.

We constantly pray for the unity of all churches and faiths across the world that they may come together as one under the one God (no matter what name, prophets followed, etc.).

Visitors are always welcomed!
Come and visit us sometime (attend a service, activity or just pop in and say hello) to see what we are, what we do, etc.
We'd be pleased to see you.
